Why we do this....

My fiancee  Max and I started Northern Lights Goldens in 2019. I had an accident, and doctors told me I would never walk again. So I started to look into the process of getting a service dog. The few programs I found available had very long waiting lists, the shortest was three years. They also cost over $20,000 dollars for a trained service dog. I needed and wanted help sooner. So I found Service Dogs International. Its a service dog training program that is more of a do it yourself with the supervision of a certified trainer. And to top it off their programs were less than a third of the cost of the other programs available. So we bought our first Golden retriever Aurora. After some work and training on both of our parts. I can now walk with the assistance of just a small leg brace and one of our service dogs. She turned out to be so amazing we wanted to see if she would be a suitable mom, to pass her amazing traits to puppies that could also possibly be trained for service work. After passing her OFA hips, elbows and, eyes. Also Gentics and DNA. We decided to have a litter of puppies. We immediately fell in love with it. Its a lot of hard work but I can't imagine doing anything else. Now we work hard to have the perfect golden for anyone. We currently have over 50+ dogs and puppies currently doing service work, emotional support, PTSD, search and rescue, cardiac and diabetes detection, autism assistance, and even helping the hearing impaired. We also have puppies go on to be AKC event ribbon holders in hunting, agility, and obedience. We strive to provide happy, healthy, amazing companions for any lifestyle.
